European Junior Lawyers
An inaugural European Initiative meeting was held in February 2010 which established the European Junior Lawyers Group (“EJL”) which is a subgroup of Mackrell International. The aim of the EJL is to ensure the continued success of MI by encouraging strong relationships between the junior members of MI.
The group has already met its first initiative which was to ensure that the EJL has an annual meeting to discuss initiatives, growth and to develop relationships between its members.
The EJL annual meetings are to take place the Friday before the MI European Regional Meeting. We have already had two successful meetings, the first in Vienna in September 2010 and most recently in Warsaw in September 2011.
We hope that as many junior lawyers as possible are able to attend future meetings and a key goal of the EJL is to ensure at least one junior lawyer from each MI firm in the network attends the events in the future. Please help us to reach this goal by nominating yourself or a colleague for attendance.
Please see the Minutes of theWarsaw Meeting for further information on the business of the meeting.
Details of the Munich meeting in November 2012 will be published on this page nearer the time.
We continue to have strong support from the International Committee, the Secretariat and the MI members as a whole are very much committed to assisting the growth of the EJL. We are very thankful for this support.
NEWS: The EJL Group has the opportunity for a nominee to complete a Gulf for Good Challenge in the name of Mackrell International. As a result of some pro bono work carried out by Mackrell Turner Garrett (London), the subscription fee has kindly been waived but the participant is encouraged to raise funds for this worthwhile charity.
Details can be found in the attached link: www.gulf4good.org. Please contact Rebecca Howlett on rebecca.howlett@mackrell.com or +44 207 240 0521 if you would like any more information on this or to volunteer.
INITIATIVES: The EJL is continually working on new initiatives to assist MI and our recent campaign has been in relation to Corporate Social Responsibility. More information on the progress of our CSR policy, including updates on our various initiatives and times of group calls can be found either on our LinkedIn page or on this web page so please check both regularly.
