In addition to her entrepreneurial roots, Cole is a civil servant at heart. Cole earned her law degree from the Cleveland State University, Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where she was a member of the Moot Court team and a Research Editor for the Journal of Law and Health. Cole is a member of the Arizona and Ohio Bars.

bto solicitors breaks the 100 lawyer mark

Scottish law firm bto solicitors, which has offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, has broken the 100 lawyer mark with the hiring of a five-strong family law team from Lindsays.

Associates John Fotheringham, Marjory Blair and Jenny Maciver, and paralegal Ruth Turley, who have clocked up over 95 years practising family law, all joined bto solicitors this month, with team leader Lesley Gordon joining in a few weeks. All are based in the firm’s Edinburgh office, with the exception of Marjory, who is located in bto’s Glasgow office.

John Fotheringham is one of only 14 solicitors in Scotland to hold the double accreditation in both Family Law and Child Law.  He has more than 30 years’ experience, representing clients in the Court of Session and in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland.  John is a trained collaborative lawyer and has a specialist interest in child support cases.

Marjory Blair and Jenny Maciver are experienced in all aspects of family law, including cases with high value and complicated assets, often with cross border and international elements. They are both trained collaborative lawyers who represent clients in non-contentious cases and cases where litigation is required.

Marjory also provides financial advice on separation, divorce and the dissolution of civil partnerships, with a particular expertise in cases involving child abduction or relocation, and adoption in both domestic and international settings.  A specialist in financial issues relating to separation, divorce, cohabitation, prenuptial agreements and cases involving children, Jenny has a particular expertise in guardianship applications.
