Our Goal.  The Regulatory Practice Group’s goal is continue to identify and recruit attorneys within the Mackrell network that have experience with a wide range of regulatory issues and to further identify those members with specialized skills or with specific agency experience to better serve our respective clients.  The Regulatory Group is a platform for exchange of information, recent regulatory developments and cross marketing. The Regulatory Group will facilitate referrals amongst members of the group and, more specifically, the other Mackrell member firms who have clients that may not be aware of the regulatory issues facing their companies.

Practices Included.  The group encompasses a broad scope of regulatory practices, e.g., environmental law, food and drug law, telecommunications law, chemical control, health care, product safety, and competition law; the Regulatory Group will continue to develop marketing materials to promote the expertise of each member.

Regulatory Matters! One marketing tool created by this group is the “Regulatory Matters!“ quarterly newsletter which highlights in each issue a different area of regulatory law.  Members of the Regulatory Group have the opportunity to author one of the quarterly issues, which gives each member the opportunity to showcase his or her regulatory expertise.  The front page of each newsletter identifies the name of the author’s firm with the following statement: “This issue brought to you by [name of author's law firm]“.  This gives each author the additional marketing advantage of promoting his or her law firm.  The “Regulatory Matters!” newsletter is distributed electronically to over 500 lawyers in the Mackrell network.

Other Marketing Materials.  In addition to the newsletter, the Regulatory Group has put together various marketing materials that help promote the expertise of its members and respective law firm, e.g., a breakdown of the regulatory practice areas covered by lawyers in the Regulatory Group, a chart showcasing the technical expertise that regulatory firms within the Mackrell network possess, e.g., toxicologists, engineers, nurses and physicians.  These marketing tools allow Mackrell members to more readily identify lawyers within the network who have expertise in specific regulatory fields, which will facilitate and better target the referral process.
