Liku Haile

Liku Damtew Haile, PhD, the firm's founder and managing partner, has extensive expertise as a corporate and finance lawyer in Ethiopia and in various fields of legal services in the United Kingdom. Mr. Haile's experience ranges from working as a counselor to Banks and Insurance businesses in Ethiopia to acting as a special advisor to the mayor of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia's capital city, on land development issues. He proceeded to the United Kingdom for additional studies and obtained an LLB degree, after which he worked for roughly four years as a trainee solicitor at Sam & Co. Solicitors in London, England. After being awarded the role of CEO of the APRM, the flagship program of the New Partnership for Africa (NePAD), he returned to Ethiopia and completed the project in around four years. Since then, he has established LDH Law Firm, which specializes in mergers and acquisitions, financing and refinancing, insolvency, and business restructuring. In matters involving Ethiopian Airlines, Commercial Banks, Insurances, the British accounting firm BDO, Ghion Industrials & Chemicals, The Ethiopian National Tour Operation Company, Ethio-Telecom, and a number of foreign individual investors interested in investing in the Ethiopian Economy, he has advised and represented clients.
