Transportation and Logistics Sector Call

13th November 2024, 2.30 pm GMT

Wednesday 13 Nov 2024, 14:30 - 13:30

After a hit in the pandemic, the global logistics market was projected to reach around US$12.5 trillion by 2027, driven at a 5.7% growth rate by e-commerce, advances in technology, and globalisation. However, recent geopolitical issues have caused new disruption to global supply chains.

What are the challenges and opportunities now for you and your clients?

Join us on a journey through a series of four one-hour, interactive, member-led collaborative calls to navigate this complex sector – open to whatever your practice area, covering Transportation and Logistics in its broadest sense.

Who should join?

Any MI member with interests, clients, or practice which interacts in any way with the flow of goods and products as they are bought/sold, transported and received across jurisdictions, linking suppliers to end users via pipeline, road, rail, water or air.

The calls are deliberately wide-ranging and intended for members to share their insights and generate open discussion and to connect as many of the members as possible during the series. The ultimate goal is of course to build new relationships between members, complementing the way we work together, and exploring new opportunities.

Each session focuses chronologically on a segment of the logistics and transportation chain - but within each call, examples of relevant aspects that can be shared or covered include environmental standards, employment laws, AI, regulatory, global sanctions, contractual agreements (suppliers/distributors/transport providers), safety, M&A, import and export, regulatory, leasing and finance of equipment/transport/infrastructure, insurance, liability, trade customs and compliance, import/export, tax, drone delivery, litigation and arbitration…
