Mackrell International (MI) members Stehlin & Associés in France and Hive Legal in Australia advised West African Groupe Mimran on its A$28 million (£14 million/$US 20 million) transaction with Avenira Limited, a company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
Groupe Mimran is a Senegal based family owned conglomerate with interests in various industries including mining and agriculture. It is also Senegal’s largest private sector employer through Compagnie Sucrière Sénégalaise (Senegal Sugar Co). Avenira’s main business is the Baobab Project, a phosphate mine in Senegal. The transaction provides funding for the project, including obtaining a full mine permit, and other Avenira investment activities.
Cyrille Boillot, M & A partner at Stehlin advised on the M & A aspects, while Simon Davidson, Principal at Hive, provided Australian securities law advice.
Clive Mieville, managing director of MI said; “All day, every day, there are MI member firms working with each other on global transactions and cases. The Mimran transaction is a typical one for us, members playing to their strengths in their respective countries and using their sector and industry expertise combined with local knowledge to deliver exceptional client work.”
