Nigel Rowley, managing partner of member firm in London Mackrell Turner Garrett, has been elected MI’s incoming chair. The unanimous membership vote was taken at the network’s 2016 AGM in Hong Kong. Nigel’s manifesto for the network’s 93 members includes finding new sources of business, raising the network’s global profile and growth to 100 members.
Nigel Rowley said; “All business is global and we are experiencing a rapid increase in demand for our services. MI can compete with any global law firm on critical mass, sector expertise and client commitment. In addition, our independent firms across the world are incredibly well-connected on the ground in 170 offices across 60 countries. At a time when buyers of legal services are looking at global networks as a potential provider, particularly attracted to the value we bring, the time has come to ensure more buyers of legal services know about that offer.”
Mackrell Turner Garrett is one of London’s leading law firms and a founder of MI in 1987. Known for his visionary outlook and as the driving force behind the network’s recent expansion, Nigel has been a member of the firm’s International Committee since 2009 and leads many of MI's special projects including business development and trade delegations.
Nigel Rowley will take over the three year tenure from current chair Michael Connolly of New York firm Morrison Cohen at the 2017 AGM in Santiago.
