The Trump administration’s campaign against China in general and, since May of 2019, 5G telecom giant Huawei in particular, has disrupted many aspects of the marketplace in many high profile ways.
Less visibly, it has brought turmoil to the creation of the standards essential to permit diverse telecom networks to interoperate, making it problematic for U.S. companies to participate in standards setting organizations in which Huawei also participates.
